Paul Schonfelder

Coach Paul has 15 years of coaching experience that has taken him all over the world, including Japan and Finland. Coach Paul is currently the goaltending coach Charlotte Checkers (AHL), and a consultant with Hockey Canada. A true student of the game, Coach Paul's direct approach to teaching makes advancing under his tutelage fast and efficient. 

Charles McTavish

Coach Chuck has a detailed eye for basic and advanced technical execution. He has worked directly with the Ottawa Senators Development Camp, Ottawa University, Smiths Falls Bears, and Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). He is also the lead goaltending skills coach for Peak Centre Academy. Coach Chuck has been consulting with teams and associations in the Ottawa area for 14 years.

Eli Rassi

Coach Eli is an innovative coach who is always on the cutting edge of the position. Along with coaches Chuck and Paul, Eli's expertise is featured in InGoal Magazine, the world's leading magazine for goalies and parents. He is currently the goaltending coach for the Carleton Place Jr. "A" Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). Coach Eli brings over 10 years of coaching experience and creativity to the CGD team.

Matt Jenkins

Coach Matt's enthusiasm for teaching and his excellent communication skills help goalies understand everything from the fundamentals to the more advanced technical skills. He has a tireless work ethic and a keen eye for technical detail. Coach Matt has been coaching with CGD for four years. Having just completed five years of junior hockey, Coach Matt is currently playing for the Carleton University men's varsity hockey team.

Glenn Carley

Coach Glenn has a unique ability to relate to students of all ages. He focuses on small details that will make a big difference down the road, building strong technical fundamentals. 14+ years of experience includes HEO A/AA, HEO AAA, HEO midget AAA organizations, Kanata Lasers JrA and currently Kemptville 73’s U18/JrA CCHL.


As a point of interest Glenn is also the developer of the Goalie Reaction Ball, a hand-eye training aid that is used by goaltenders all over North America.

Matt Dopud

Matt is currently the goalie coach for the University of Ottawa men's team. He has been coaching in Montreal and Ottawa since 2005. His experience as a Junior, Major Junior, and CIS graduate has given him great perspective of both the game and the position. Matt now calls Ottawa home and is looking to continue his coaching success with CGD. Matt received CIS rookie of the year honours and 2nd line all star award in 2010-2011. He also participated Memorial Cup in 2008-2009 with Rimouski Oceanic.

Greg Bowles

Coach Greg is currently the assistant coach for the Ottawa University women's team. He is responsible for growing and expanding the men's and women's programs at CGD. His vision as a coach and instructor is one of long term, continued development. Coach Greg brings 25 years of hockey and athletic playing and coaching experience. Coach Greg currently works with the University of Ottawa women's varsity hockey team.

Aaron Barton

Aaron's diverse playing background provides him with the knowledge and experience to identify with goalies of all levels and ages. He has experience in Junior A, Major Junior, and CIS hockey. Aaron now calls CGD home and specializes in the synthetic ice room, focusing on edgework, positioning, and movement.     

Aaron received his first goalie mentoring job at 13 and hasn’t looked back since. He has experience coaching both in Toronto and Ottawa at all levels.

François Brassard

François Brassard has spent the last 5 off seasons coaching in Gatineau and Montreal. He played 4 years in the QMJHL with the Quebec Remparts, the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, and the Gatineau Olympiques. He was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2012 and attended the Buffalo Sabres camp in 2014. François is now a proud member of the Carleton Ravens and continues to develop his coaching career.
